Pastor's Welcome
Hi! Welcome to this website for Holy Trinity.

If you're a long time member or an unacquainted browser our bottom line message is "you're welcome at HTLC". And if you're a long time member or a browser, when you come to be with us, you're "home".

Holy Trinity is a church of differing political viewpoints, differing incomes, differing theological viewpoints and differing commitments to the faith. And all of that is o.k. Because here, near the Beltway, we have a unique chance to enact a small parable of community.

Here no one tells anybody else that they don't belong. Here different and differing people greet one another with smiles and signs of peace.

Here all confess their hypocrisy and their failures and all receive the gift of forgiveness. All are welcomed to the Word and the Table. Here you too will be challenged to grow in faith and you will be comforted when you have known the pain of the limits of your faith.

And all of this happens or can happen because what unites us is not a "what" but a "who". Jesus of Nazareth, our Risen Lord, the Loving One whom God sent. This One welcomes you and will bind us together.

So come with your questions, come with your doubts and your gifts differing. Dare to share your passion for what a community of the Gospel could look like. We need you here. So whether its for the 2nd time or the 2,000th time, welcome home to Holy Trinity.


What we Believe
We, as Lutheran Christians, believe in:
· the Triune God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
· God as the creator, owner, and ruler of all,
· people as the crown of God's creation,
· all of God's creation as good,
· loving God through loving others,
· our need for God's grace because of sin,
· Jesus Christ, God's Son, as God's answer to our need,
· sustaining our relationship with God through the word and sacraments,
· caring for God's creation,
· the church as a source of strength and support in our daily lives.


Vision
The vision of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is to become a church that is:
· Growing in faith as disciples of Jesus Christ and by God's grace;
· Inviting and welcoming all people in the name of Jesus Christ;
· Caring for all in our church family as one family;
· Sacrificially giving our time, talents, and treasure in serving each other and our local and global community; actively seeking to discern God's will in all that we do.
